minutesHummus is hummus, but sometimes you want to vary a little with it. Completely against the strict hummus rules, of course. But you can also violate those rules from time to time, I think. Fig hummus is an incredibly tasty variation on the theme. Slightly sweet, slightly crunchy and delicious with a mezze that you serve for lunch. Or as we sometimes do, at brunch. But as a starter or snack also completely great.
Ingredients
1 can chick peas
100 ml tahina
2 cloves garlic
8 dry figs
salt and pepper
possibly a few fresh figs as a garnish
Cooking time
- Remove the hard stem from the dried figs and cut them into quarters.
- Now mix everything in the food processor and add water until it gets the substance you want. In between, always taste whether it has the right taste. Add some tahina, dried fig, salt or water depending on what you taste.
- Here is the fig hummus served on a flatbread. And on top we put some fresh fig.
