Ingredients
4 Onions
2 table spoon dried thyme
olive oil
salt and pepper
- Orange syrup
4 organic oranges
1,5 kilo cane sugar
Cooking time
- Wash the oranges and peel them.
Squeeze the juice.
Now put the juice and peels in a saucepan and let it come to a boiling point. Then add the sugar, stirring well until all the sugar has melted.
Now simmer very gently until it becomes viscous.
Then let cool. - Peel the onions and place them next to each other in a baking dish. Pour them over with some olive oil and drizzle the salt over them.
Put them in an oven at 200 degrees for an hour. After the hour, by squeezing the onions, feel if they have really become completely soft. - Remove them from the oven, pour the syrup over them and a little thyme.
