minutesEl Salvador is the second home country to my oldest daughter. And naturally, eating habits from that culture find their way into our home. So now we eat several times a week plantain for breakfast. Nice and sweet and crispy and healthy and simply delicious.
Ingredients
2 plantains
sunflower oil
some vegan honey or fresh fruit as options
Directions
- Plantains are the larger version of the normal banana. Much bigger and the inside is also very different. Even when they are dark black on the outside, on the inside they are still all good.
Normally I cut the banana in two and slice them in 4 slices.
I fry the slices in some sunflower oil. Let it caramelise well, nice brown. And do this on both sides.
