Lima beans that you keep eating. With so many layers of flavor, with so much crunch. And also comfort food. The starter that every dinner should start with. And it also fits seamlessly into a mezze.

Ingredients

  • 1 pot lima beans

  • 2 Onions

  • 10 cloves garlic

  • 3 shallots

  • 1 tea spoon smoked paprika powder

  • 1 tea spoon pul biber

  • 1 tea spoon fennel seeds

  • 100 gram Sesame seed

  • sunflower oil

  • olive oil

Cooking time

  • Rinse the lima beans well under cold water.
  • Fry the finely chopped onions in the pan together with the finely chopped garlic cloves in plenty of olive oil.
Do this for about 15 minutes. Until they are nice and brown and flavorful.
  • Mix all the spices and the sesame seeds.
  • Cut the shallots into rings and back them in a layer of sunflower oil until deliciously crispy. Let them drain on kitchen paper.
  • Add the spice mixture to the onion mixture. Let it simmer for a few minutes and then mix it into the lima beans.
  • Serve the lima beans with a crispy shallot on top.
