  • 1 kilo 1 potatoes

  • 0,5 table spoon 0,5 cumin seeds

  • 0,5 table spoon 0,5 mustard seed

  • 1 table spoon 1 pul biber

  • 50 gram 50 grated fresh turmeric / turmeric / galanga

  • 1 bouquet 1 fresh cilantro

  • 150 gram 150 plant based butter

  • salt and white pepper

Cooking time

  • Peel the potatoes and boil them for 20 minutes. Peel the turmeric and grate it with a fine grater. It’s a bit of a chore this…. but the smasher of the flavors.
Heat the butter in a pan. Gently fry the cumin seeds, mustard seeds and pul biber until soft and to taste.
  • Drain the potatoes. Let them steam out. Pour the butter mixture over the potatoes. Mash them fine. Niet te zacht, mogen wel wat stukjes in blijven zitten. Finely chop the coriander and stir it in together with the turmeric.
Bring it to taste with salt and pepper.
