Spicy pumpkin from the oven with dried figs, smoked almonds and pecans

What was your favorite dish tonight? I often ask guests that question. And if this is one of the dishes at the main course, then it often wins over the others. And quite rightfully so.

Ingredients

  • 1 kilo pumpkin in pieces of 2 x 2 cm

  • 10 cloves garlic

  • 1 table spoon turmeric

  • 1 table spoon paprika powder

  • 1 table spoon round cumin

  • olive oil

  • salt and pepper

  • 10 dry figs

  • 100 gram smoked and salted almonds

  • 100 gram pecan nuts

Cooking time

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Place the pumpkin pieces in a baking dish. Sprinkle the dried spices on top. And a generous amount of olive oil. And divide the whole garlic cloves between the pumpkin. Also add some salt and pepper. Toss everything together well.
  • Put in the oven for 40 minutes. Stir well.
  • Doe nu de noten in een keukenmachine en maal ze grof. Cut the figs into quarters.
    Spoon this through the pumpkin and bake the pumpkin for another 10 minutes.
