Together with some stir fried cabbage with ginger and red chili pepper, some sweet soy sauce and black rice, you’ve got yourself the best package deal.

Ingredients

  • 1 block tempeh

  • 100 ml sunflower oil

  • 5 centimeter fresh ginger

  • 3 cloves garlic

  • 4 table spoons brown sugar

  • 100 ml sweet soy sauce

  • splash soy sauce

  • 1 – 2 red chili peppers

Directions

  • Cut the tempeh in thin slices. Preheat a thick bottomed pan and pour in the sunflower oil. Bring the heat up. Then fry the tempeh on both sides crispy in 5 minutes. Let it rest on some kitchen paper towel.
  • Preheat a pan with some sunflower oil. Fry the ginger that is cut in small pieces, the red chilli pepper in slices and add the sweet soy sauce and the regular soy sauce. Mix it all well. Add 50 ml of hot water with the brown sugar. Let is all simmer.
  • Now add the tempeh. Place the slices next to each other in the soy mixture. Let it all simmer, about 20 minutes.
