This walnut dip appears on your table very often in the Middle-East. But not so much in other regions. That’s a pity because it’s so delicious. With drinks, as a mezze dish or even just on a cracker with some lettuce.

Ingredients

  • 2 dry slices of bread soaked in water

  • 150 gram walnuts

  • 2 table spoons pomegranate molasses

  • 50 gram pomegranate seeds

  • 50 gram pine nuts

  • 0,5 lemon (for its juice)

  • 1 clove garlic

  • 1 deciliter olive oil

  • salt and pepper

  • 0,5 table spoon chili

  • 0,5 table spoon cumin

Preparation

  • Actually, you simply need to mix all the ingredients in a food processor, except for the pomegranate seeds and the pine nuts. If the dip turns out too thick, just at some water. Bring to taste with salt and pepper.
  • Pour the dip in a nice bowl, divide the pomegranate seeds and the pine nuts over it.

Serve with some lettuce and pita bread.
