Cinnamon is the secret ingredient here with the string beans and the tomato.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams string beans or green beans

  • 500 grams ripe tomatoes

  • 3 banana shallots

  • 5 cloves garlic

  • pinch cinnamon

  • olive oil

  • some Arabic bread

Preparation

  • Cook the string beans a few minutes in boiling water.
    Cut the tomatoes in dices.
  • Fry the shallots in a deep frying pan. Add the garlic towards the end for a few minutes. Then add the tomatoes. Drain the beans well, let them rest for a few minutes to get rid of the moist and then add them to the tomatoes. Let everything simmer wel on middle high heat.
  • Stir well. Add the cinnamon and the salt and pepper to your taste.
  • Wonderful to have with some Arabic bread.
