Spruitjes, je kunt er zoveel meer mee dan we in Nederland gewend zijn. Deze gewokte spruitjes zijn daar een heel goed voorbeeld van. 

Ingredients

  • 500 grams Brussels sprouts

  • 1 white onion

  • 3 centimeter fresh ginger

  • 3 cloves garlic

  • 1 red chili pepper

  • 1 lemon

  • 200 ml sweet soy sauce

Preparation

  • Peel the Brussels sprout first. You take off the leaves on the outside and cut off the bottom. This is always quite some work, but hey that’s part of cooking. Doing it together makes it nicer.
  • Cook the sprouts for a few minutes. In the meantime fry the onion in a pan. Add the garlic and the red chili. Peel the ginger en cut in real small pieces. Also add this to the pan.
  • Then add the sprouts. Stir fry them well. Do not let them get too cooked and soft. That would be a pity. Add the soy sauce and the lemon juice. Do this at the same time to prevent the sweet soy sauce from burning.
  • Serve with some rice.
